What a fantastic way to earn a living, doing something, which even after 30 years as a professional
wedding photographer in Northamptonshire, I still totally enjoy. Especially rewarding is that whilst
I often work my way through families, doing the photography for brother's and sister's weddings,
I am now also taking bookings where I was the photographer at the bride's parents wedding !
DIGITAL or FILM?
The one thing that has always influenced my choice of photographic equipment and printing has been the QUALITY of the prints that they produce.
Until last year I had not gone with the popular choice of using digital cameras for Wedding photography as I did not feel the quality of your wedding prints would be good enough.
Despite using digital cameras for commercial and industrial photography which have different criterea, I used to take all Wedding photographs on film using Hasselblad cameras, regarded by many professional photographers as the world's best medium format camera, producing
6 x 6 cm negatives which when correctly developed and printed straight from the negative gave amazing depth and detail in the final photographs, especially in that all important wedding dress,
but now with the introduction of the new 21 megapixel full frame Canon 5D mk11 camera,
and the total control of print quality
with in-house printing on my
Canon iPF8100 44" wide format printer,
plus in-house print mounting and laminating,
digital image quality is even better, it has impressed me so much that my choice of equipment
for your Wedding photography will now be Canon Digital.
I offer a modular system starting with "Digital Only" options. Your images are supplied as high resolution jpegs on CD or DVD with full copyright, and you are free to choose where, when, and how many prints to have, giving you far more choice and flexability, or the same packages but with a fixed number of discounted prints for the Bride and Groom, suitable for a Classic or Reportage Wedding Album. Alternatively, you may prefer a Storybook album.
For over 20 years I owned one of the largest photographic studios in Northampton, with
in house printing and framing. I sold up a few years ago and now offer couples a far more
personal wedding photography service. In order to appreciate exactly what you want
from your photographer on your wedding day and ensure things go as planned, I will personally
see you at all stages of booking, planning, taking, and even printing your wedding photographs.
After all, every wedding is different, as I should know, having been to some with as few as
three people, ( I was asked to be a witness!) and others with up to five hundred guests, at
wedding locations from Northampton to Cyprus, some extremely formal, others very laid back.
